Our clinicians are university-trained and board-certified, not four years of veterinary school and a truck. When your horse's eye is the problem, a board-certified ophthalmologist is on the case with us. Advanced imaging is read by board-certified radiologists. If the answer is outside what we know, we go find the person who knows it.
The difference is where those people are. They are not waiting in a hospital for a referral to arrive. They are at your barn, on the case, and here when the horse needs to come in.

New England Equine Practice sits on Route 22 in Patterson, New York. Built in 2007, it's a 29,000-square-foot hospital with a surgical suite, intensive care, a dedicated isolation wing, and in-house imaging, all under one roof.
From the farm call to the operating table, care happens in one place. Our ambulatory team also travels to horses across the region, and to Wellington, Florida, for the winter season.
Our roots are here, but horses come to us from across the country, from Massachusetts to Florida to Texas.

The veterinarian who answers the phone at three in the morning is not a stranger passing through. Dr. Bradley has practiced here since the seventies. Dr. Cook since 1998. The team that meets your horse on the farm is the team that walks it out at discharge.
Our veterinarians trained at Colorado State, Cornell, Kansas State, North Carolina State, and the University of Glasgow. All of them are horse people first.

Owned and run by its veterinarians since 1970. Equine medicine is consolidating; we are not. The decisions about your horse are made by the doctors treating your horse, never a corporate owner.

Clients do not lose sight of their horses when sent to a tertiary facility. Communication isn't a courtesy here. It is structural. You hear from us at every decision point.

Barn work isn't clean, and we are glad to get into the weeds. We do plenty of work in the beautiful barns, and we are just as happy to come to your backyard. Sleeves up, either way.

We're equipped and staffed for nearly every case in equine practice: emergency, surgery, internal medicine, sports medicine, and ambulatory. These three carry the deepest investment.
Diagnostic Imaging
Recumbent MRI, nuclear scintigraphy, ultrasound, dynamic endoscopy, and radiography, all in-house. Advanced imaging is read by board-certified radiologists, and the surgeon has the findings the same day.

We answer the phone around the clock. During office hours, our staff connects you to the veterinarian on call. After hours, our answering service reaches that veterinarian, who calls you straight back. Call the main line rather than a veterinarian's cell phone, so we can triage and get the right doctor moving. Anyone can bring a horse to the hospital, client or not. If you're hauling in, the team meets you at the trailer.
